[
the challenge
]
Create a visual identity that honors the museum's historical significance while appealing to modern audiences. The brand needed to stand out in Naples' competitive cultural landscape, communicate both art and archaeology departments cohesively, and maintain flexibility across diverse touchpoints: from exhibition posters and wayfinding to stationery and digital platforms.

[
the solution
]
Developed a distinctive identity anchored by a custom geometric monogram combining a circle, triangle, and vertical element, evoking both classical columns and contemporary minimalism. The signature red creates immediate recognition while allowing archival imagery and artworks to breathe. A modular pattern system and clean typography ensure consistency across all materials, from large-scale banners to business cards, creating a timeless yet forward-thinking cultural brand.
The solution stems from a visual system of essential geometric shapes: a monogram “F” reduced to its essence and a language that works on solids/voids, rhythm and proportions to communicate institutional solidity and accessibility.
The “Pompeian Red” colour (inspired by Neapolitan cultural imagery) and clean typography aid legibility, while patterns and graphic cuts allow for flexible layouts for posters, banners, ticketing and stationery, as shown in the mock-ups.
From symbol to system: an identity designed to be strong, flexible and ready for everyday communication.
